Which oil does what
| Oil | Best for | How to use | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castor Oil | Scalp & roots | Warm a spoonful, work into the scalp, leave 30–60 minutes before a gentle wash. Thick — many mix it 1:1 with coconut. | → |
| Kalonji Oil | Scalp routines | A few drops massaged in before wash day; traditionally paired with a carrier like coconut. | → |
| Almond Oil | Lengths & tips | A light after-wash smoothing oil — two or three drops through damp ends. | → |
| Coconut Oil | Pre-wash & champi | The classic champi oil — massage in, leave 30 minutes or overnight, wash out. | → |
| Black Sesame Oil | Overnight champi | The traditional warming head-massage oil — use before bed, wash in the morning. | → |
How to choose
Every cold pressed hair oil here is exactly that — one seed, one press, nothing else. No mineral oil doing the bulk of the work, no added fragrance covering it up, no colour.
- Arandi (castor) — thick and deep-conditioning. Almost nobody uses it neat: one part castor to three parts coconut or almond is the usual champi mix.
- Coconut — the everyday one, and the classic summer choice. Pressed from dry kernel.
- Black til — the winter oil, warmed before it goes on. Krishna tila is the sesame the classical texts hold highest.
- Kalonji — sharp and peppery, used a few drops at a time in a blend rather than on its own.
- Badam (almond) — the lightest, for anyone who hates the weight of a heavy oil.
All Truly Cold Pressed in slow wooden ghaanis, unfiltered, lab-tested batch after batch. Because there is no preservative in the bottle, shelf life is an honest 4 to 6 months.
