Truly Cold Pressed
Slow wooden churn with no heat at any step — the only press gentle enough for an oil this fragile.
No heat, no chemicals
Cold-pressed, unrefined and unfiltered. Nothing added, ever.
Lab report, every batch
Independently tested — and every report is published openly.
One ingredient
Nothing added, nothing removed.
Why a spoonful a day
The omega-3 oil, kept honest
The richest plant omega-3
Roughly half of flaxseed oil is alpha-linolenic acid — no other seed we press comes close as a plant source of omega-3 ALA.
Lignans left intact
Refining strips alsi of its lignans and its grassy character. A cool wooden press leaves both exactly where they belong.
Raw by design
Nothing about this oil wants heat. Drizzle it, whisk it, blend it — and taste how green a genuinely fresh press really is.

A little goes a long way
Over salads & dals
Spoon it over a finished dal, khichdi or salad — after the flame is off, never before it.
Smoothies & chutneys
Blend it into smoothies, or fold it through a green chutney or hummus for a fresh, grassy lift.
Dry skin & scalp
Some families use it neat on dry skin and scalp. Patch-test first, as you would with any new oil.
In detail
The full story
Buy this bottle for one reason: it is the richest plant source of omega-3 there is. Cold pressed flaxseed oil — alsi ka tel — is pressed from the seed of Linum usitatissimum in a slow wooden ghaani, settled by gravity and bottled unfiltered. Roughly 50 to 60 percent of what is in the bottle is alpha-linolenic acid, the plant form of omega-3. Everything else on this page follows from that one fact.
Never heat it — and here is why
Do not fry with it, do not use it for tadka, do not cook with it at all. ALA is fragile: flaxseed oil begins breaking down at around 107°C, well below the temperature of a warm tawa, let alone a kadhai. Heating it destroys the very thing you bought it for and turns the taste bitter. This is a raw oil, always. Where every one of our oils sits on that scale is set out in our side-by-side table of smoke points and best uses.
So how do I actually use it?
Cold, and at the table. A spoonful is all it takes:
- Drizzled over dal, khichdi or a finished sabzi once the pan is off the flame
- Stirred into dahi, raita or a smoothie
- Whisked into a salad dressing with lemon, salt and a little mustard
- Spooned over hot rice or a warm bowl at the very end
The flavour is earthy and grassy with a mild nutty finish — more assertive than kardai, gentler than sarso.
How should I store it?
In the fridge, below 15°C, capped tight, from the day it arrives. Alsi is the one oil in our range we insist on refrigerating: light, air and warmth are what it reacts to, and cold and dark are what keep it tasting sweet and nutty. Finish it within a few weeks of opening. If it ever smells sharp, fishy or like paint, it has oxidised — please do not use it. Fresh alsi smells green. How to store cold pressed oil covers cloudiness, sediment and the rest.
How long does it keep?
Four to six months from the pressing date printed on the bottle, refrigerated and unopened — and a good deal less once you have opened it. That short life is not a shortcoming; it is what an unrefined, preservative-free, polyunsaturated oil honestly is. We press to order rather than warehouse for exactly this reason.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants a plant source of omega-3 in the daily routine, and vegetarian households in particular. In Indian homes alsi oil has also long been massaged into the scalp and worked through the lengths of the hair — we share that as tradition, not as advice.
Pressed at low RPM so the seed never heats, cleared by gravity rather than filter paper or bleaching earth, at our press house in Changodar, outside Ahmedabad — FSSAI licence 10724999001232, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP and Halal certified, USFDA-registered, every batch numbered and lab-tested. Use it as a table oil, keep it cold, and one small bottle goes a long way. Choose your size and we will press yours fresh.

Good to know
You asked, we answered
Can I cook with Flaxseed (Alsi) Oil?
Please don't! Flaxseed oil has a very low heat tolerance and is meant to be enjoyed completely raw. Drizzle it over cooked dal, salads, khichdi or curd, or stir it into a smoothie. Do keep it refrigerated once opened — it's the most delicate oil we make, and the most rewarding when treated right.
How much flaxseed oil should I take, and when?
Most of our customers take a teaspoon or two a day, raw — stirred into curd, drizzled over dal or khichdi once it is off the heat, or blended into a smoothie. Start small if you are new to it and give your palate a week to settle in. We are not able to give medical advice, so do speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or taking it alongside medication.
Why does flaxseed oil spoil faster than your other oils?
Because of the very thing that makes it worth buying — it is the most omega-3-rich oil we press, and those fats are also the most fragile in the presence of light, heat and air. That is why it comes in a small bottle, why we press it in tiny batches, and why we ask you to refrigerate it after opening and finish it within a few weeks. Fresh flax smells nutty and faintly grassy; a sharp, paint-like smell means it has turned.
Is taking the oil the same as eating whole flax seeds?
Not quite — the oil is the fat portion only, so you get the omega-3 without the fibre and lignans that come with the whole seed. Plenty of people do both: seeds ground into atta or sprinkled over food, oil taken raw. Neither replaces the other.
Does flaxseed oil taste fishy?
Fresh flaxseed oil should taste nutty and slightly grassy, never fishy. A fishy or harshly bitter note is the classic sign that a flax oil has oxidised — usually from age, warmth or light. Ours is pressed in small batches and dated on the bottle for exactly this reason; keep it cold and dark and it will taste as it should.
Can I use flaxseed oil on skin or hair?
You can, and some people like it as a light scalp oil, but honestly this is not where flax earns its keep — its value is in being eaten raw. If you want a dedicated hair and skin oil, our almond, coconut or black sesame will serve you better and cost you less. Keep the flax for the plate.
Can I cook with flaxseed oil?
Please don't. It smokes at around 107°C / 225°F and its omega-3s are fragile — heat destroys the very thing you bought it for and turns the taste bitter. Use it raw, added after cooking. When you want an oil for the pan, our groundnut or mustard oil is the one.
Does it really have to live in the fridge?
Yes. Refrigerate it as soon as it reaches you, keep the cap tight, and finish it within a few weeks of opening. Fresh alsi smells green and grassy; oil that smells sharp, bitter or faintly like old paint has oxidised and should be discarded.
Why are your oils more expensive than other cold-pressed brands?
We could match anyone's price tomorrow — we would simply have to give something up: the wooden press, the hand-picked seeds, the published lab tests, or the premium couriers. You're paying for everything a lower price would have had to remove.
How do I know your oil isn't adulterated?
Every batch is third-party lab tested and the reports are published for anyone to read. We're FSSAI-licensed (10724999001232), ISO 9001 & 22000 certified, GMP, HACCP and Halal compliant, with USFDA registration for exports.
What is the shelf life of your oils?
Four to six months from the pressing date on the bottle — deliberately short, because we use no preservatives and press in small batches.
Do you offer free shipping and Cash on Delivery?
Free shipping on all orders above ₹999 within India. COD available up to ₹50,000 — cash only, with a small handling charge.
Do you ship internationally?
To over 125 countries in 8–14 days — and you'll also find us on Amazon US, Amazon UAE, Amazon India, Noon and Walmart.
Why should I choose KachiGhaani.com over another cold-pressed oil brand?
Here is the whole case, in one place:
100% truly cold pressed, preserving all the natural nutrients.
Made from hand-picked seeds, ensuring the finest raw materials.
Stored in steel tanks, maintaining hygiene and freshness.
Adulteration-free, guaranteed authenticity — one seed, one oil, nothing else.
100% transparent extraction, so you know exactly what you are getting.
Delivered fresh, typically within a week in India.
Impacting farmers, supporting sustainable livelihoods.
And most importantly, made with love and care :)
We believe in brutal honesty. It is why we tell you plainly that our prices are higher instead of pretending otherwise, why we publish our lab reports instead of burying them, and why we would genuinely rather you compared us against someone cheaper than simply took our word for anything.
And that is why you can blindly choose KachiGhaani.com over other cold-pressed oil brands. We never disappoint. We always deliver what we promise. Either love your items, or we will make it right for you.
What certifications does KachiGhaani.com hold?
We're FSSAI licensed (10724999001232) and certified under ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 22000:2018 for food safety management, GMP and Halal — plus USFDA registration for our export operations. Few cold-pressed oil brands in India carry this full stack, and we maintain it with real pride.
There's sediment at the bottom of my bottle. Is something wrong?
That's a good sign, not a fault — and we're always pleased when customers notice it! Our oils are completely unfiltered, so fine particles of the seed naturally settle over time. Refined oils look perfectly clear precisely because that goodness has been stripped out. It's entirely safe to consume and doesn't affect quality — just give the bottle a gentle swirl before use.
How long does delivery take?
Your order is processed and dispatched within 1–2 business days. Within India, express delivery then takes 3–7 business days depending on your pincode. International orders typically arrive within 8–14 days, though customs clearance in your country can add to that. You'll receive a tracking link by email the moment your parcel leaves us.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — shipping is free on all orders above ₹999 within India. Below that, and for international orders, the exact shipping cost along with any applicable duties and taxes is calculated transparently at checkout, so there are no surprises later.
Do you offer Cash on Delivery?
Yes! Cash on Delivery is available for orders within India up to ₹50,000. COD is strictly cash-only in Indian Rupees — gift cards and store credit can't be used against it, and a small handling charge may apply. If you'd rather pay online, UPI, net banking, e-wallets and cards are all available through Razorpay.
Which oil should I use for oil pulling?
Sesame oil is the traditional answer — the Ayurvedic practices of gandusha and kavala are described with til taila, and of the sesame varieties the classical texts hold krishna tila, black sesame, highest. Our Truly Cold Pressed Black Sesame Oil is exactly that, unrefined and unfiltered. Coconut oil is a popular modern alternative and is gentler in the mouth if you find sesame too strong. In practice: about a teaspoon on an empty stomach, swished gently for five to fifteen minutes, then spat into a bin rather than the basin and rinsed away with warm water.
